Through the Looking Glass

In 1971, I was totally enamored of the feminist movement. I joined the NOW organization and read all sorts of tracts and books finding them enormously cutting-edge. For they tore apart the fragments of my culture: where women were supposed to serve men.

My mother encouraged me to be a liberated woman. She was of two minds spanning two worlds: that of a conservative Jewish background while vying to be her own woman, a lifestyle I adopted. Even though I felt satisfied with being single and self-supporting, I paid a price from going against the popular societal grain. I struggled with self-image and self-worth my entire life, a common issue with women who want to lead extraordinary lives and not limit themselves to husband and children. Reinforced by schmucks who felt threatened I led my own life, listening to the beat of a different drummer.

Despite the strides I made without once selling my body - my degrees, working on Wall Street, operating my own consulting company, traveling, writing literary novels - all pale in comparison to the wave of post-feminism.

That’s where women use their pussy to pay for their PhDs. Or use their pussy to pave their way to make money.

In this new world of post-feminism, up is down and down is up. That’s when I realized I’m getting old. Like, real O L D. Because I don’t understand the logic: Why should a woman work at a degrading job flipping burgers at a Micky D’s when she can be making a fortune getting fucked up the ass on video?

Here’s a quote from a “Lauren” in OXJane.com (an online site where women go to be selfish [don’t even ask me what the fuck that means!])

“It terrifies us to even fathom that a woman could take ownership of her body. We deem to keep women in a place where they are subjected to male sexuality. We seek to rob them of their choice and of their autonomy. We want to oppress them and keep them dependent on the patriarchy. A woman who transgresses the norm and takes ownership of her body — because that’s exactly what porn is, no matter how rough the sex is — ostensibly poses a threat to the deeply ingrained gender norms that polarize our society.”

WHOA! I’m still deciphering what the fuck that means. And I’m purportedly an intellect! My guess is she’s rationalizing being a hooker and saying the porn is the ultimate aspiration for an intelligent woman.

Funny enough, when I went to a Dominatrix site, I read about Femdom from their point of view. Femdom is the credo where women abuse men psychologically, physically and sexually (not to mention financially) all in the name of female empowerment. Lauren shares the same outlook as practitioners of  BDSM.

Well, it all boils down to the same thing: an excuse for prostitution. Rationalize away, but we all know women who fuck for money whether between their legs, their strap-ons, their mouths and their hands are still whores.

So don’t pee on me and tell me it’s raining. I ain’t buying any of these bizarro self-empowering arguments when it’s all about degradation anyhow.

I got pride and integrity: I never had to sell my body to move forward in my life. My soul, yes, but never my body.
