Not to be Believed - Updated!

Fuck me, this is a cult.

I can only blame myself for getting sucked into a chatroom on Facebook. It’s a special group for those in Sullivan County, New York. It’s indeed a special group, a group that requires helmets.

Today’s insanity is about an article in a local newspaper. A Hasidic guy cashes a $25 check and gets $2,500 by accident. He returns $2,475 the following day. That was such a remarkable deed and that this someone is a Hasid they had to have a newspaper article about him.

Hate to tell you, but this does occur with non-Hasidim and the majority of people do return the money. But, since they aren’t Hasidim, there’s no fanfare.

Well, someone posted the article and I wrote this:

Makes you wonder why the teller made such a mistake... perhaps cashing those large checks all day long from Hasidim???

I definitely stirred the shit! People went batshit crazy. I was called everything under the sun including anti-Semite. Hate to tell you this, but living in a resort community with Hasidim, I see firsthand the thick wads of $100 bills along with the EBT cards.

Go figure, right? But, I’m the anti-Semite. Yep.

The best part on Facebook was the indignity of certain local people when I said that Hasidim were a cult.

Lunatic #1 I am sure you love other minorities like you do Jewish people Maura.

‪Maura Stone‪ I love Jewish people. I don't love cultists,

Lunatic #1 Where is the line where the love starts ... With conservative Jews, Orthodox Jews or Ultra Orthodox Jews ??

Maura Stone The love ends with Hasidim. They are cultists.

Lunatic #1 We will leave it at that.

Maura Stone Really? I’m sure you absolutely LOVE the Satmars who conspire with al-Quada and other terrorists for the destruction of Israel. Right? Or should we leave it at that?

That was fun, but this is mandatory reading!

Lunatic #2 I see by your pissing and moaning about a single group, looks a wee bit antisemitic.
But hey you spin it

Maura Stone Yes, call me an anti-semite. Again, another judgmental liberal moron. Hasidim are not Jews, they are cultists.

Lunatic #2 Oh wait now you are an expert on cults.

Maura Stone Tell me, do normal men suck babies’ penises after they are circumcised????

Lunatic #2 Does that qualify as cultish? Please elaborate....
‪Or is it perhaps a cultural tradition.
‪here in this state we have people who think it's ok the murder babies in the name of birth control.... which is more disturbing?

Maura Stone OMG - you are sick. You’re defending pedophilia! I’m leaving you trolls.

This is what’s wrong with society at large. To prove someone wrong, they will go past normalcy and through the looking glass. In this case, support of grown men sucking babies’ penises of blood. Yes, this is true:

ABCNews April 5, 2013

Two infants in the last three months in New York City's ultra-Orthodox Jewish community have been infected with herpes following a ritual circumcision, according to the health department. The boys were not identified.
In the most controversial part of this version of the Jewish** ritual, known as metzitzah b'peh, the practitioner, or mohel, places his mouth around the baby's penis to suck the blood to "cleanse" the wound.
One of the two infected babies developed a fever and lesion on its scrotum seven days after the circumcision, and tests for HSV-1 were positive, according to the health department.
Last year, the New York City Board of Health voted to require parents to sign a written consentthat warns them of the risks of this practice. None of the parents of the two boys who were recently infected signed the form, according Jay Varma, deputy commissioner for disease control at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Varma said it was "too early to tell" if the babies will suffer long-term health consequences from the infection.
Since 2000, there have been 13 cases of herpes associated with the ritual, including two deaths and two other babies with brain damage.
Neonatal herpes infections can cause death or disability among infants, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"First, these are serious infections in newborns and second, there is no safe way an individual can perform oral suction on an open wound," said Dr. William Schaffner, chair of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University. "Third, these terrible infections are completely preventable. They should not occur in the 21st century with our scientific knowledge."
Some rabbis told last year that they opposed on religious grounds the law requiring parents to sign a waiver, insisting it has been performed "tens of thousands of times a year" worldwide. They say safeguarding the life of a child is one of the religion's highest principles.

"This is the government forcing a rabbi practicing a religious ritual to tell his congregants it could hurt their child," Rabbi David Niederman, executive director of the Hasidic United Jewish Organization of Williamsburg, told "If, God forbid, there was a danger, we would be the first to stop the practice."

Which explains why we have transgender bathrooms.

Ah, isn’t life so enriching having the lunatics running amok?

** I don’t know about you, but “Jewish” ritual? I’ve been Jewish my entire life and only heard about this two months ago. Sometimes, even at my ripe age of 60, there are things I don’t know about nor want to know about. Insofar as this “tradition,” it’s only practiced among the cultists and no where no how among real Jews. It may also explain the rampant pedophilia within the Hasidic community - where upwards of 70% of the male population has been sexually molested. Hmmmm.
